Born of a hero

I think this is my best piece that I managed to draw for the contest. I tooked me ALOT to draw the details and textures but i managed to finish just on time.I draw this with pencils from B to 9B, charcoal, and used pastels to do hair, leaves and belt. Now, to explain my vision in this piece: I tried to represent the instinct and the reason because to succeed in every task you must have this pair in perfect balance. On the right pan lays the instict, represented by three objects: the tree base represents nature, the ice axe represents survival, and the compass represents orientation. On the left pan is the reson represented by a japanese temple made from crystal means knowlege and in the middle as the human element is Lara Croft solded in Yamatai island because this is the place where the true Lara Croft is born. The backgrous is only pure decorative bat only the stone gate have a menaning. The stone gate is named in japanese culture 'torii', and it represents transformation or evolution, so I thaunght is a good idea to associate this with Lara Croft Reborn, because the game represents Lara's evolution, from a normal girl to a great hero.
